Very good food and good SVC. Someone puked in the bathrooms, toilet and urinal. Sick! Overall we liked the place. The vomiting will never leave my mind and doubtful I will be back. Great fish tank, they're very friendly.

As far as Thai food in the east side, this place is my go-to. No other Thai place is as tasty and consistent as Bangkok Cuisine. It all starts with their hot and sour soup. This cones complimentary with every lunch dish. The soup is always fresh, flavorful, and perfectly spicy. I enjoy dipping the shrimp chips in it as I await my main course. I typically get the kow pad or pad thai with chicken at the medium level of spiciness. This is where I really value the consistency of Bangkok Cuisine. Not only is the food always tasty, but the spice level is always the same. I can't count the number of Thai restaurants I've been to where medium means medium one day but means volcano hot when a different chef is working. I've really come to appreciate getting what I expect every time. I don't usually get too deep into the menu here so I can't speak to some of the more exotic dishes, but everything I've ever had has been terrific. If you're in or around this part of town and craving Thai food, you can't go wrong at Bangkok Cuisine.

5 for the food, 3 for the decor/oldness of the place = 4 stars overall. I have been to the Bangkok Cuisine takeout location on Woodward (Royal Oak) and also the sit-down location in West Bloomfield, which is quite a bit newer, I think. This restaurant is in-between my apartment and my boyfriend's house, so I bought a Groupon for it so we could try it. It's on Maple/15 Mile near Dequindre but a little past the corner. Service was very friendly and attentive. You get soup with your dinner (yay!) and their hot and sour soup was really, really good. We also got shrimp chips with our dinner .... receiving both of these was nice because normally with dinner you get the entree and everything else is a la cart. He got the Pad Thai with shrimp and I got the Pad Prik. My fave Thai place is Sy Thai (Bham/Troy) and I get the Ka Prow, but Pad Prik is similar. I agree with Matthew P.'s review - I ordered mine mild, and it was more of a medium - so be aware of that. The bf ordered his medium and said it was too hot to bring to work (leftovers, the next day), lol ... he needed lots of water to drink with it. The place itself seems kind of old ... not dirty or anything like that, but a little run-down. The bathroom was clean but located near the kitchen/closets area. I'd come back here again when in the neighborhood because the food was so good, but Woodward is a bit closer for me. Dinner prices were reasonable, too - $11.95 for chicken/beef/tofu entrees, with a big portion (I had leftovers), or $13.95 for the seafood dishes.

It was just okay. I bought a Groupon to try a new thai place, but I wasn't impressed. We ordered shrimp Pad Thai & scallop Pad Woonsene, (we allllways order Pad Thai) and both were bland tasting and lacking flavor sadly. The portions were huge (lots of shrimp and scallops in each) and comes with a bowl of soup: Tom Yum (delicious) & hot and sour (basic). For the two dishes our bill was $28, which is $9 more than we typically pay for dinner out for Pad Thai. I wasn't impressed, and will stick with my regular Thai place. Bathrooms were clean & staff nice and attentive.

Dined here yesterday, and it didn't go as well as I hoped! Although the reviews for this place aren't all that great, I remember reading a great review about the food being excellent from a reviewer who has great taste, however I would have to disagree completely after checking it out for myself. I got the gang dang, which I think is "gang gai" actually.. And it was burnt! I don't know how they could have burned it but every timed I swallowed, it irritated my throat. At first I thought perhaps there was too much ginger, but the server told me they do not use ginger in this dish.. I was a little confused as to what it was until I saw some of my tofu had small dark burned texture and smell. Also I didn't get any soup because they assured me that their broth is chicken, but I was a little disappointed because they could've perhaps given me a replacement like a spring roll like most Asian restaurants do if you don't take the soup that is suppose to come with the meal. Another thing I didn't like is that I couldn't upgrade to fried rice for my meal, and was told I must order fried rice separately which would have came as another entree. I thought that was ridiculous. Not going to make my way around here again.

Fish on my pla lad prick was not fresh that's why I guess they tried to over fry it !!! A lot more other Thai restaurants to go to. Two of my six Nung tong was still bloody !!! Health dept !

Childhood Favorite One of my earliest childhood food memories was grilling chicken satay on a hibachi at the original location - long...long...ago, which hasn't been possible since around 1992. Loyal customer
I used to live down the street on Dequindre and work at the Tech Center, and this place is VERY popular for lunch. Whenever my husband and I come back to visit our family around the holidays, we make a point to go to any of the Bangkok locations. Even if we go for lunch as we drive out of the state, my husband has to have his beef pad Thai from Bangkok before we go. We moved out of state and could not find a Thai place that even came close. I LOVE the pineapple fried rice, and my husband gets the beef pad Thai with medium spice. He says he loves to see what mood the chef is in, as the medium spice level can be slightly different on different days. I never venture beyond the first spice level. Even that gets me sometimes. The difference between the full locations and express locations is that you do not get the chips, soup, and salad at the express locations. The waitresses are always really nice, the food comes out hot, and it is delicious! We have now moved again, and we are hoping to find something similar to Bangkok!

Not impressed. There was a bug in my Thai tea and I paid to add chicken and shrimp to my dish and did not receive any chicken. First and last time visiting this establishment.

Sadly an old favorite gone bad. It used to be the best place in town for Thai food. Mediocre, watered down curry dishes that are hot, but not flavorfully spicy. Tough chewy spring rolls with nothing but shredded cabbage. Service was equally poor. Order was wrong and waitress argued before taking it back. Never came back to check on our table or bring more water.

This is my favorite Thai place by far. This place runs hot on the heat scale. Hot at Orchid Cafe up the street is a mild+ here. So if you like heat and bit of mouth tingle, start medium or mild plus. I have high tolerance and medium plus here burns. I've enjoyed lots of dishes, and really love their drunken noodle with pork. Eight out of 10 times I order the Pad Num Mun Hoy with scallops, and add bamboo shoots. It's a brown oyster sauce with mushroom and green onion. Scallops are large, and very plentiful. When I get the crispy rolls or spring roll that comes with the sweet clear peanut sauce, i mix in some of the table side red curry to make a sweet heat dipping sauce. Yum! From take out to dine in for 10 years i've had nothing but love. Service is always great for me. IMO it's as good as it gets, and I compare all my other Thai meals to Bangkok.

It seems hard to believe that I've never written a review of Bangkok Cuisine. Perhaps it is because, though I have been here a few times over the years, it has not been my Thai restaurant of choice. That may change after tonight. The spicy, milky sauciness of my Vegetable Curry Tofu, large container of brown rice at a reasonable price and steamy insides of the vegetarian spring rolls accompanied by a hot-sweet dipping sauce with bits of peanut may draw me there more regularly than before. The food here tastes like the what I first tried in a restaurant on Woodward more years ago than I want to say. It thus seems more Thai than what I've been eating at Thai restaurants lately. Note that this is a review of carry-out service only. If I can convince the Mrs., though, I'm up for a dine-in trip based on tonight's meal.

It's good. Not the best but good. Spice levels tend to be on the spicier side of the scale.

The food was good. However, I placed my order and told the lady I was driving from royal oak and that it may take a few minutes longer. When I was a mile away, I received a phone call asking if I was coming for my food, I was about to reply that I was almost there and she HUNG UP ON ME! I found that to be extremely rude. When I confronted her, I received no apology and she merely shrugged it off...... I'll be taking my $$ to a business that appreciates customers.

DH and I went here using the Groupon where you pay $11 and get a $20 certificate. He ordered the pad thai with chicken - mild and I had the pad see ew with tofu - mild. We both liked my dish better than his. The pieces of tofu were large and fresh tasting, unlike the dinky cubes you get at some other restaurants. The portion of the pad see ew was larger than the pad thai, but both were generous. Each dish came with shrimp chips (seemed a bit stale) and hot and sour soup that was filled with ingredients and had a nice spice to it. The service was very speedy and we were able to show them the Groupon right away so there were no surprises when it came time to pay the bill. The dining room was a little bit warm, I think they could have benefited from turning on the A/C. Unless we had the Groupon, I don't think we would go here again, simply because of the cost. Each entree was $11.75, which seems a bit steep for Thai Food.

My mother dragged me to this place, and to be honest, I was not in the mood for Thai food, I really wanted disgusting Burger King or Arby's. But I was happy she treated me to Bangkok Cuisine! My mom was telling me how the last time she went it was PACKED and she hoped we could get a seat the time we went there. We walked in and the place was..... dead. After I mocked about how dead it was, We sat down and decided what were were going to order which was crab rangoon and pad sai you with beef. The rangoon was really tasty! It had a wonderful cream cheese filling that had notes of green onion, chunky crab and had an amazing sweet dipping sauce that looked like thick, clear water, but was really the star of the dish. The pad sai you was very filling and delicious also. I ordered it mild and thank God I did. I can take heat really well, and I tend to be heavy on the pepper when I cook at home, but this definition of "mild" was really a white persons "spicy". Still, the beef was tender, the sauce was flavorful and the noodles were cooked to perfection. I took away a few stars because it was a tad bit too dirty for my taste (sticky table, spotted utensils and water that tasted gross), and they ran out of the chicken satay, which is what I really wanted. Yet still, I enjoyed it.

Boo. I'm so effing sick of this place. I always get dragged here by friends. My order is never good, I try to change it every time to see if they have anything better to offer. No, never. Last time I got drunken noodle, easy right? Wrong. My noodles were way under cooked, so I gave my leftovers to my brother and he didn't even finish them. We came in at 8:28, they closed at 9. It takes about ten minutes to cook the food, but they wanted to close the kitchen early so they were rushing us out. She kept telling us they were closing. So why not make closing 8:30 then? My friend is a waitress and she was pissed. Never again!

Hands down my favorite Thai restaurant. Been coming here for years for the hot and sour soup which comes with lunch. Without a doubt, it is the best around (trust me, I have sampled my fair share). My go to dish is the Pad Kra Tiem Prik Thai (garlic chicken). Chicken stir fried with Garlic and Water Chestnuts in a dark sauce and topped with roasted garlic. Don't go above medium though, or it loses the flavor. Never had a bad dish here' rice or noodle and the Crispy Rolls are great too.

The food here is outstanding. They lost a star because they prices are high. Even compared with their Garfield location. My favorite dish is the Pad Thai. Extra spicy. The Bangkok Chicken is very good also.

Every time we come back from CA we eat Thai here. Love the Pad Pak, but after this last time I have to say it's not what it used to be. The brown sauce was oily and heavy and nothing like what it used to be. The service is something that has gone downhill too. My wife's cashew chicken was moderately better than the Pad Pak. Hopefully they can turn things around because I felt this was one of the better Thai places near this area.

This place is really good. I've been here a few times, but just recently realized that I never reviewed it. I usually just order the same thing (pad see eew/ Pad thai) so i don't know much about the other dishes. The portions are pretty big, which I like. If you order pad see eww with a pot of rice, it's enough for two people. And pad see eww is even better with rice, so it works out. The hot and sour soup here is quite delicious, and thick too. I'm not sure how "authentic" hot and sour soup is supposed to taste, so im not sure if this is how it's supposed to be, but to me = thicker soup = more quality. So I dig it. The hotness level here is not that hot. If you've even at thai king on 15 and mound, the hot here is like the medium there. But on the plus side, they have a cup here of pepper powder should you decide to be adventurous or try to impress your date. And also if you're a man. The food here is not too salty or too bland, in fact, it's pretty darn good. The sauces are thick and stay on the noodle, which is a sign of quality. Dishes here are a little more pricey than other thai places, but not by much. But like I've said in my other reviews, you truly get what you pay for. 7-8 dollar thai places exist, but the lack of quality ingredients show in their food. The only thing that would make this place better, I think, is more mood lighting. It seems too bright for my taste.

I'm excited to be working by this place. We go here for lunch at least once a week now. 'Gang Garee', a spicy potato dish is my favorite. I've never seen it anywhere else. Some time in the near future, I will slip up and call it gang green. I know it. Luckily, the staff is of Thai decent and will probably not notice. The shrimp chips are good and the hot and sour soup is excellent. Food is served fast and the bill is pretty cheap ($7.99 for a huge lunch portion).

I just went to Bangkok Cuisine in Sterling Heights for the first and last time. I had purchased two Groupons ($20 value each) a few months back and was trying to use them. I called and placed an order for approximately $30. When I arrived they had all of these signs in the lobby saying the Groupon would only be honored for dine-in. I was planning to carry-out so I approached the counter and informed them of the conflict. They told me that I had to dine-in to use the Groupon. I then offered to dine-in for the food and they told me that it was too late. That no matter if I dined in or carried out I would not be able to use my Groupon because it had already been rang up as a carry-out. I said I didn't understand since the prices were the same for carry-out or dine-in. They said it didn't matter and they would rather waste $30 worth of food then allow me to use the Groupon as dine-in. I also told them that I have used many Groupon's at other Bangkok Cuisine's in the metro Detroit area for carry-out. I was informed that their manager would not allow it. I will never return and probably will stay away from all of the Bangkok Cuisine's at this point. Basically, they we arguing over making a few dollars tip, which I offered to give them but they still said no. Horrible customer service. Stay away.

This place is really only worth it if you have a groupon, otherwise its overpriced. They have a decent sit down area for dining in, and services is quick. Food is usually good, however the last time I got one of the chicken dishes, and it seemed a bit off. Kind of weird chicken, and ill leave it at that. Lots of menu choices.

I really like coming to this place for their Pad Thai. They make it as spicy as you want it. They are usually busy with only two waitresses for all the diners as well as the people ordering take out. The food is always tasty. Tried their crab Rangoon, which is new on the menu and it was also delicious. Gotta also love the portion sizes, enough for two meals.

Indian place was closed next door so I thought I'd give this place a try. Simply awesome. The staff were beyond attentive and friendly. The Tom Yum was sour, sweet, and tangy, and my curry chicken, was enough for 3 or 2 fat people or 1 and 1/2 for me :) Seriously a ton of food. It wasn't buys as I was there just after lunch rush but I think the service would be the same. I am unsure if I got a lunch or dinner portion but either way I enjoyed eating here.

The food here is always fairly good. Tasty pad Thai is their best dish. Never had a bad meal lunch or dinner. The portions are good. And pricing is about right. My only issue is that after all the years eating at this establishment...you would think they would clean up and decorate the exterior of the restaurant.

The best of all the Thai places that I have tried. We went the first time on a Groupon and keep going back. Great chicken pad Thai, Bangkok chicken, chicken satay, and coconut ice cream. Everything is excellent.

Bangkok cuisine is a amazing place to satisfy your craving for thai food, quick story, whenever I went to my cousin who lives in this part of town, I'd always ask to get it because it was so good, i always get the Bangkok chicken, it's always perfectly sauced and just the right amount of spice (medium) if you are ever in the mood for Thai food...Bangkok Cuisine is the place to go!

This is one of the best thai places you can find in the area. First, SPICY!! Yes, the dishes can be really spicy if you are a heat seeker. Ask for medium first if you think you are at the 'hot' level because their scale of spicy is little bit lower than other places; meaning - if you ordered dishes "medium" in other places, ordered "mild" here - that would be your safe bet. Secondly, the taste is close to authentic foods. I recommend dishes with green curry, Pad Thai, and Pak Prik Khing. All the fried rice dishes are really good, especially the one with Pineapple. Why four stars? Service can be a little bit slow sometimes because they don't have enough waiters/waitress. A lot of sodium - very salty in dishes and soup.

Bangkok cuisine is the best Thai in the Detroit area. The pad se-ew is the best. We've gone to other Thai restaurants and they don't compare to Bangkok. They have multiple locations, and the food is consistent so hit up any of their locations

I have been going to Bangkok Cuisine since the 80's when they were in a tiny corner of a strip mall at 16 mile and Dequindre. They always have had some of the best Thai food around until recently when I had carryout. The portions were smaller, prices were higher, and the food didn't taste as good as before. Here's a tip to the owner......Instead of opening a restaurant in every city, why don't you concentrate on the quality of the food you serve at your current locations. Don't let this one stop you from going to the other 7 locations. The Bangkok Cuisine located in Roseville and the one in Auburn Hills have great food!

I love this place. I usually order the same thing every time which is the green curry chicken medium unless I decide to "venture out" and try something new. When I do, I'm always happily surprised but still punch myself for not getting the green curry. The last time I was there, I ordered the pineapple curry with chicken which looked like a big bowl of oatmeal, but it tasted awesome! I still could have eaten some green curry though. As far as the spice level, it is pretty inconsistent. Ordering medium could run the gamut of actually being mild to hot so just be prepared to either say to yourself "this ain't hot enough" or feel some extra burn in your mouth. I'm fine with their spice levels though. Eating in gets you free soup with any entree and free chips. The interior has recently been remodeled which is nice. The waitresses are all very nice and courteous. There is a nice fish tank inside which houses African cichlids. There is a saltwater tank at the 26 and can dyke location but the prices over there a little bit extra. Their prices are pretty reasonable for what you get. Their portion sizes are larger than average you will almost always be taking some leftovers home unless you can down that whole plate of Pad Thai in one sitting which I have done so in the past. To sum up, I highly recommend this place. I've been to many Thai places in the Detroit metro area but always find my way back to Bangkok cuisine. They have great appetizers, soups, entrees, and a nice atmosphere. I've been going there for many years and plan on it being my regular Thai staple in the future.

My favorite place to go to for chicken pad tai....soooo good, and if you dont like your food too spicy just ask for the light spice. I forgot what the soup was before the main dish but it was very delicious. Awesome food!

We bought a Groupon deal to try this place out and was not disappointed! Totally yummy and we got amazing service. The decor leaves a lot to be desired but the food was fantastic. We ordered the crispy rolls (delicious!), Pad Pak (super totally delicious!) and the Pad Thai (AMAZING! has a bit of sweetness which I really enjoyed). We will definitely be visiting this place again!

Love their tom yum soup, pad Thai and red curry. They offer complementary chips for each table like most Thai restaurants around here (they don't do that in the east coast). They actually make the food spicy when you request it unlike some other restaurants who decide you can't handle it. Pretty big proportions. You can order one entree for two people. I usually can't finish my meal and have to pack the rest at home.

My history with Bangkok Cuisine begins in the early 1990's when it began as, literally, a 4 table restaurant in a terrible plaza next to a now torn down Meijers at the corner of Dequindre and Metro Parkway. The only reason our family knew about it is because we lived right across the street from it. Initially, we had no idea what Thai food was all about, but after some trial and error we soon realized the uniqueness of this cuisine. Fast forward 20 years or so to today, and this place is still going strong, but with many locations as compared to the one tiny dining room. The gentleman that served us our first meal nearly 20 years ago still tends to the dining room floor and kitchen, along with his children, and now presuming, grandchildren. Though I have never travelled to Thailand, I have had my share of Thai food, and it's interpretation all around the world, and Bangkok Cuisine is still my reference point in comparing all of the different restaurants and dishes. The food and the service, most of the time, is amazing. The one thing I must mention is that on MANY occasions eating here there have been busloads of Thai tourists that have come here for their meal. At the end of their meal they all bow and give offerings to a statue at the front of the building (presumably a Thai leader, but I do not know). There, also, always seems to be a handful of Thai families that eat here every time I am here. To me, the last 2 points are a strong indication that this place has authentic Thai food. For what it is worth, there is a certificate from the Thai consulate for the authenticity of their food. My typical order at a Thai restaurant includes pad se-ew, which Bangkok Cuisine does very well. Recently I have been venturing out and trying new dishes, but anything I try seems to be better than the previous entree I've tried. You can order your meal with no spice, or up to extremely spicy. At one point in their history they actually made you sign a waiver for anything over 3 peppers! Their chicken satay is a great appetizer and each dinner comes with a bowl of soup and shrimp chips. Their dinner portions are big, and have a lunch menu as well. Their prices are a little higher than the typical thai restaurants in the area, but for the amount of food and the quality of the food it is a great value. If good Thai food is what you are looking for you can't pass up this place.

Funny smell when we entered -- reminded me of the basement of this large family down the street -- anyway, it got better. Hot and sour and Tom Yum soup were good. We stuck with the standards, Pad Se Ew and Pad Thai. Both were good, I think I prefered the Pad Thai a bit more (which is unusual). The Tofu was excellent here. Medium Spice is comparable to some places HOT, I liked it that way, but be forewarned. The Spring Roll was good not the best. So in spite of the smell, it was pretty good. Bathroom was tidy.

This place is amazing, I always order the Bangkok Chicken and I get it extra spicy with a side order of spring rolls. It's always amazing and fairly priced. I usaully get take out, but if you dine in they offer these amazing Thai chips that are delishious and colorful. So do yourself a favor and go eat here ASAP.

True stories... When I lived and worked in the Motor City, friends and I used to come here for lunch and dinner. One night some of them visited without me and told about how they had a competition for who could eat the hottest dish. Bangkok Cuisine has a 5 pepper rating. Four is extreme, 5 is obscene. Of course they ordered 5s for the comp. I asked some probing questions about the contest: Q. How was it? A. Messy Q. How long did it take? A. 2 hours Q. How many trips to the bathroom to clean up? A. 4 each Q. Did they finish? A. No Competition painful and fierce. Endorphins raging. Aftershocks brutal. After I moved away from Detroit, I used to buy Zip Locks and a cooler and transport $100 worth of Gang Dang, Cashew Chicken and Crispy Rolls back home. It really stunk up the plane. The owner published a book about 5 years ago called Thai - Plain and Simple. It is an amazing collection or recipes that tells the basic method for almost all of their menu items. I now cook a mean red curry or brown sauce. Fish sauce and oyster sauce is weird. At Bangkok Cuisine the service has always been and still is outstanding. The meals are among the best Thai I have ever had. This place has been serving authentic Thai food in Detroit for over 20 years. Their Pad Thai is the standard by which I measure all Pad Thai.

By far the best Thai food we have found in Michigan! Over the past 5 years I have probably eaten here 50+ times, and 90% of the time it was take-out for lunch or dinner. Typically when ordering take-out you always have to worry about what you have in the bag when you get home and with Bankok Cuisine I have only dealt with the mystery bag two to three times. (Still good food though!) I am a huge fan of the Pad Thai, even though I have tried other adventurous items off the menu. I keep going back to the Pad Thai Chicken. To be honest, whenever we eat Thai food anywhere else I use Bankok Cuisine as my measuring stick for just how tasty the Pad Thai is! The portions are massive, I dont think I have ever finished a dinner potion in one sitting. In fact, I usually ask for light chicken in the Pad Thai because they pack so much in. Prices are a little on the high side, but have never kept me from ordering.

The food is great, as is the staff. Been going for a few years now, almost weekly with a group from work. Always get great service, and the food is always delicious. One thing that sticks out here is the hot and sour soup! Sometimes a bit more spicy than I like, but I try to manage lol. Always good portions, and I usually have enough to take home with me, but normally it doesn't make it home! lol

I happen to live within a five minute walk or 30 second drive to this establishment. Have been there several times and I never walk away disappointed. Whether I get take-out or eat in, it's always a safe bet. Favs are Pad Thai, Pa Nang and the Thai Apple Salad. (The apple salad is what I had the other night - it's the perfect blend of satisfying spring/summer fare. Not the most exciting of ingredients - Granny Smith apples, toasted coconut, chicken, red onion and cashews... but it somehow just works really well.) If you want fresh, tasty, spicy, delicious, makes-your-tummy-happy food, give 'em a try.

This place may rank better for people who like different Thai dishes. I had gone to this place 3 times before I cast it aside. I normally order pad kra tiem from thai places, so I followed suit here. The dish was a disaster! The sauce was comparable to burned motor oil. It was thick and gloppy with hints of burnt toast scrappings. They are pretty consistant at ruining this dish too. Every time I have dined in the soup is never very hot, which is quite a dissappointment. The service is actually pretty good which I assume is to try to make up for the poor food. I was pretty much done with this place for quite some time. We had a few new guys come to work and they couldn't stop raving about the place, but I stood by word... the place is aweful. After several disputes about it, I asked one the more experienced Thai patrons at the office why they went to both Sala Thai and Bangkok Cuisine, and they informed me that Sala Thai is good for brown sauce and Bangkok Cuisine does better curries. SO I gave the place another shot, and ordered green beans in a red curry. The guy I asked was right, Bangkok does do a good curry. I would like to give them 3 stars for having a good curry (which I never order unless I get stuck going here), but they do my favorite dish terribly so the 2 stars i plugged in are staying.

Bangkok is pretty well known in the metro area, however with all the experience I have eating here I feel that a review is warranted for those who may not know of it. This place is so close to our home in Troy and we regularly (almost weekly) order take out when we are feeling lazy. I usually order the Pad Thai or the Bangkok Seafood Combo and am always happy with my food. The spring rolls are light with a garlic sauce that is the best I have tasted. The rolls are not thick like egg rolls and the garlic sauce is not your normal egg roll sweet sauce. My husband usually gets the Pad Kow Pode, it is his favorite. You can see the complete menu with pricing on bangkokcuisine.net/abbSa… . Portions are large to my standards. I get three meals out of one and my husband gets two. It is not fancy by any means, but the food is quality and Bangkok serves as a great go-to restaurant for takeout. Slight warning though: their spice level can be inconsistent, if you are sensitive to spicy food I recommend getting mild.

Thanks Groupon...but not good enough to come back. Had drunken noodle - just ok, have had better at many other Thai places. Had to re-season the leftovers. Also had the fried catfish that was soaking in some brown "garlic" sauce, it looked unappetizing but the fish was pretty decent. Probably better to have the sauce on the side. You'll get a lot for the fried chicken appetizer, which was made with a boring batter, served with a decent sweet and sour dipping. The tom yom soup was way too salty, and interesting the piece of floating chicken was pretty dry. Overall, disappointed. Would not go out of my way to come back.

Very good Thai food again only from Bangkok. Food is the same as the Rochester location, some staff work between both locations, I feel like the Rochester one is more nicely decorated though.

I love Bangkok Cuisine. The food is great and the staff are very attentive. The decor at this place is really neat and it is super clean. If you can make it here for lunch, the prices are unbeatable! There is no difference in lunch/dinner portions, but the prices are about $4 cheaper! This is a good place to take a large group and try new things. There is a really decent menu and the variety should suit anyone. Carryout orders are ready in about 15 minutes or less and stays screamin' hot all the way home.

I've been visiting Bankok Cuisine (in Troy) for 17 years and have never been disappointed. My favorite is the Pad Cashew, chicken. Takeouts are generous proportions. One order of Pad Cashew and spring rolls is generally enough for 4 people in my familiy.

If you want to get a taste of the food in Thailand, this is the place to go. Tum Yum soup is great, and the green curry with zuchhini with beef is great. Make it hot please! Awesome!

Used to like this place when they had a location off 13 & Woodward so I had to go to the next closest location (Sterling Heights) after the Royal Oak location closed down. This place at best, is somewhat comparable in quality to their old location. The last several times I ordered take out, the food was really bad & it seems like things are tumbling downhill. New management/cooks maybe? They often fry everything in the same pan meaning if the order before you was prepared with fish/shrimp, you will taste/smell fish in your pork based dish for example. They also forgot to add salt to my dish a couple of times but the thing that's most annoying is the inconsistency b/w the dishes depending when you eat there. A lot of times, the very same dish looks and tastes significantly different depending on who's preparing it that day. But anyway, my frustrations with this place are over as I will not return for any more disappointments.

Almost the best Thai food in the area. Good varied menu. This is pretty much one of two Thai restaurants I frequent anymore.

I hate to give this place anything lower than 4 stars, seeing as I have had it once a week for the past 2 months. Unfortunately, takeout tonight was an epic fail. Okay...maybe not "epic" but disappointing. My Bangkok Cuisine staple is the Pad Prik Khing....chicken or beef, crunchy green beans in the best red curry in the state. I'm a light weight, so I do mild-plus (I love spicy but going even medium at BC and my lips will burn for hours). The portions at BC are no joke. A huge helping of rice with a large container of all that curry goodness...plenty to share (not that I do). The Tom Yum is also incredible...spicy, slightly sweet from the cilantro with big chunks of chicken. But...back to tonight's carry-out. Order in for my usual mild-plus Pad Prik Khing with beef and off I went. Once I opened the top of the container, I knew something was off. Instead of the heaps of beef and green beans in a deep red curry stock, the sauce was brown. Dark brown...I tasted it before I poured it on my rice and sure enough...garlicky. The same sauce they put on their Pad Ped, which is delicious but not what I wanted nor what I ordered. And it wasn't one of those "oops" mistakes because the Pad Prik Khing isn't identical to anything else on the menu. Quite a few items feature the garlic brown sauce but the green beans are a prominent feature only in the curry dish. I can only assume that they ran out of red curry and used the brown sauce as a substitute but honestly, I think it's kind of shitty that they didn't just tell me when I arrived to pick up the order. I would much rather have had the option to change my order instead of them making the decision for me. It tasted okay but wasn't what I was craving. I was bummed. It happens and any place can have an off night but I hope next time I order, that I get what I ask for. And I will order it again and hopefully come back with an updated reviewing raving. For now though, my disappointed belly can only award 3 (from previous visits) stars.

Although I havent really tried many Thai places I have to say this place is legit! Bangkok Cuisine is literally within walking distance of my house so we get carry out quite often. Favorites include Chicken Pad Thai and Shrimp fried rice. Spring rolls are the best in town.

(5)Jasmine R.
Not impressed. There was a bug in my Thai tea and I paid to add chicken and shrimp to my dish and did not receive any chicken. First and last time visiting this establishment.
(2)Jeannie E.
(2)Matthew P.

(4)Kelly C.
It's good. Not the best but good. Spice levels tend to be on the spicier side of the scale.
(3)Chris N.

(3)Ginny G.
Delicious. My husband and I both loved it. I had the drunken noodles. He had pad thai. Both were great.
(5)Joseph H.
(3)Audrey S.

(5)Rachel O.
The food here is outstanding. They lost a star because they prices are high. Even compared with their Garfield location. My favorite dish is the Pad Thai. Extra spicy. The Bangkok Chicken is very good also.
(4)Lou S.
(2)Minh S.
(4)Meredith E.
(5)Brigitte B.
Stay away.
(1)Stephen G.
(3)Thula K.
(4)Chris M.
(4)Paul G.
The food here is always fairly good. Tasty pad Thai is their best dish. Never had a bad meal lunch or dinner. The portions are good. And pricing is about right. My only issue is that after all the years eating at this establishment...you would think they would clean up and decorate the exterior of the restaurant.
(4)S S.
The best of all the Thai places that I have tried. We went the first time on a Groupon and keep going back. Great chicken pad Thai, Bangkok chicken, chicken satay, and coconut ice cream. Everything is excellent.
(5)Jake V.
(5)Qian Y.
(4)Z T.
Bangkok cuisine is the best Thai in the Detroit area. The pad se-ew is the best. We've gone to other Thai restaurants and they don't compare to Bangkok. They have multiple locations, and the food is consistent so hit up any of their locations
(5)Eric S.
(2)Bernie S.
(4)Dale E.
My favorite place to go to for chicken pad tai....soooo good, and if you dont like your food too spicy just ask for the light spice. I forgot what the soup was before the main dish but it was very delicious. Awesome food!
(4)Jill C.
(5)Tan F.
(4)Nicholas T.
(4)Daroki K.
(3)Erik D.
(5)Taki M.
Consistently good. No wonder this is the most popular thai place in the area. The food is fresh and very flavorful. The service is friendly too!
